Stress Test Systems

Stress test systems are used in non-invasive, cardiac monitoring procedures, which primarily identify coronary artery disease. Stress tests are used to induce stress on the heart in order to check for heart disease. Heart diseases such as coronary artery blockages and arrhythmia are more easily detectable when there is an elevation in heart rate. By analyzing a patient during variations in their heart rate, a physician is able to better diagnose for the many types of heart diseases. Such tests are typically performed with the use of a treadmill or exercise bicycle in conjunction with a corresponding EKG monitor. The patient will be instructed to increase their heart rate while on the treadmill while connected to the EKG monitor through the use of electrodes as well as a blood pressure monitor. Through information gathered from blood pressure and EKG readings, a patient can be tested for their risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) and other heart related issues.
